Any guesses for whom Parveen Shakir wrote this poem?
This was for a 8-10 years old boy, son of a Pakistani diplomat in New Delhi, whom she met her visit in 1980s. She alongwith her son Murad (who was 5-6 years old then) spent few weeks with the family and children were attached to each other. This boy was quite attached with the poet and when she was leaving for Pakistan, he cried a lot. Parveen Shakir said to him 'I'll visit you soon again' and the boy said 'I'll miss you'. Parveen Shakir called his mother when she reached Pakistan and said, 'ik paheli hai boojho' and then told this poem over phone. That was obvious for the mother of the boy, but we as readers might have interpreted it differently.
So share any stories, incidents, etc behind some piece of poetry that you come across.
